Dash Berlin @ Lavo. 2/18/12

For the second time in as many months, Dutch progressive-trance phenom Dash Berlin took the decks at Lavo NYC this past Saturday night. He came on around 12:30 and instantly took over the crowd with his uplifting melodies and signature female vocals from the likes of Emma Hewitt and Sara Howells. He opened with a fantastic mash-up of his euphoric anthem ‘Disarm Yourself’, tyDi’s ‘Acting Crazy’ and Tiesto’s ‘Maximal Crazy’. Alongside the usual Lavo crowd was a large crew of Dash’s cult followers that brought the energy to the open area in front of the booth and sang along with every word. There is something to be said about a DJ who looks like they are genuinely having just as much fun up there as the rest of the jumping and singing club goers. Saturday night at Lavo, Dash belted out every single word to his songs with a huge grin as if he was playing them for the first time. All those positive vibes clearly rub off on the crowd and turns a normal DJ set into something special. As always, Dash did not disappoint, and the crew here at SBB was thrilled to see him named as a late addition to the Ultra Music Festival lineup.
