Last night wasn’t your typical Thursday in Portland, Maine. Sure, you had the typical steezy “bro bars” blasting their lame top 40 jams but not every bar was following suit. Pearl Lounge was bumpin’ with hot, young EDM lovers. Why you may ask? Well, the answer is simple and can be clarified with 3 words…Lazerdisk Party Sex.

That’s right, SBB homeboys Lazerdisk Party Sex were holdin’ down the 1′s and 2′s last night for an event set up by Maine Electronic at Pearl Lounge. Having just moved to Portland for work, i’ve set out in search to try and find any form of life for an EDM scene––which unfortunately, seemed pretty non-existant (for the downtown scene). I’ve been trying my best to use StopBreatheBump to spread the word and bring this amazing scene to Maine. Thankfully, my boys from Maine Electronic are riding the same wave!

You may remember Lazerdisk Party Sex from their #1 hit on Hypem a few months back with “Afrojack + Quintino – Selecta (Lazerdisk Party Sex Remix)”. Or, from their amazing remix to Bonjour Hi’s “La Pata y El Pato” which we posted a couple months ago. They are absolutely crushing the EDM scene right now and their momentum is only getting stronger. I always like to emphasize the fact that they’re from Burlington, Vermont––like Kyrie and I. It’s so great that our homies are blowing up and in the process, are helping to put Vermont on the map.

After a a GREAT set from my dudes Digital Bonesaw Society of Maine Electronic, Lazerdisk took the stage and the rest was history! The entire night, Zack and Chad of Lazerdisk oohed and awed the crowd with their infectious energy and filthy beats. I had a difficult time maintaining a steady camera throughout the night because all I wanted to do was let loose! It’s just like Will Ferrel’s quote in the notorious movie “Old School” when he says, “I can’t stop because once it hits the lips, it’s just so good”! A similar notion coincides with a Lazerdisk Party Sex performance…Once the beat drops, it’s almost impossible not to dance!
