Thursday night at LAVO was an all around fantastic time. ATB was in the big apple and he brought some big-time energy. It was our first time at this exclusive club and it turned out to be quite the experience. The crowd was packed with models and their sugar-daddys, and you couldn’t get in the door without at least 5 beautiful girls on your arm (or being on the press list…woo!) Incredible lights, exquisite sound & chicks with titty-tassles dancing on platforms.. What’s not to love?

ATB spun a huge assortment of tunes; from 90s-esque, top-40 remixes to newest-of-the-new trance anthems. After witnessing his mind-melting sets at Ultra and EZoo this past summer, we were expecting some top-class, luscious, beautiful trance from top to bottom. Needless to say, we were a little surprised when we heard ‘Woo Hoo’ by Blur blasting through the speakers. Andre’s set was unpredictable to say the least, and he totally redeemed himself (in our eyes) by dropping some of our current trance favorites: que ‘Eagles’ by Sander van Doorn, ‘Be Your Sound’ by Cosmic Gate, and the funkadelic ‘Cry (Just A Little)’ by Bingo Players. The crowd was really feeling the music and the intimate size of the club gave us that close-up connection with the DJ that we all crave. About 45 minutes into his set we were blasted by some ridiculously cold mist (almost resembling liquid nitrogen that seemingly lasted an eternity). Usually we would have thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing gust, however it was raining outside, so we were still a little damp and weren’t quite hot enough from breaking it down yet. Luckily, LAVO had handed out rave-like foam sticks that lit up in a variety of trippy colors (which we snuck out of the club at the end of the night to utilize at future shows ) so we didn’t lose each other in the blinding fog. We’re going to write to the big festivals to suggest this misty blast to help revitalize & rejuvenate the monolithic crowds of overheated people that gather for EDC, Ultra, Electric Zoo, etc.

Overall, it was an unforgettable evening in an upscale, beautiful place with equally beautiful people. Big thanks to LAVO for attracting some of the best artists in the EDM world to our wonderful city. Check out our videos below to get a taste of our wildly fantastic evening!
